Hello My name is sebastian and I'm 18 years old soon 19 and I've been a fan of star wars all my life. I'm still in school studying animals, with other words I'm training to become a zookeeper. I love kids, star wars and charity so is there any better way to do all those things then becoming a member of the Nordic Base and the Nordic Garrison !?! I have really no idea where to get the parts for a costume the costume I want to do is this one www.kaminolegion.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/501st-clone1.jpgI don't have the money for it yet, but I thought that starting out to buy the helmet would be a good idea. So I would be really happy if someone with the same costume or similar costume could let me know where to find the parts. In the future I'm gonna try to make a C3PO from Rots, I know its hard to make one with all the details, but for now I'm focusing on the clone trooper costume. So if any one can help? please contact me via Facebook or email or on this forum. Email- animal@hotmail.se Facebook- www.facebook.com/sebastian.westling.1See ya for now ! And May the force be with you

Just so you know, a movie-accurate Clone Trooper costume is pretty expensive and time-consuming, even though C-3PO might be a bit worse. But do start with the helmet - that should give you a taste of what it is like and if you happen to abort the project then at least you will have a nice display piece. I would recommend the helmet from EVO3 because it will fit most people's heads without needing to be cut open.
Most people in the NG have got armour from OSCS. I would recommend belt and straps from Steelblitz, because his are white from the start and painting rubber could be difficult. People in NG prefer the plastic shoulder straps they got in the OSCS kit, though. For boots, Crow62 if you don't want to convert a pair of shoes. All those makers are on Clonetroopers.net's forum. You will find their threads in the For Sale area and they are best contacted privately via private message over there. Be sure to specify that you want parts for a ROTS grunt: there are many variations, and there are people doing animated-style armour also.

I started on a ROTS Clonetrooper, but I don't know if I will finish it. I made several mistakes on the costume that have hindered me. For instance, I did not get the OSCS armour kit but another type which was lower quality. I tried to modify it in various ways to get it to be as screen-accurate as OSCS but that turned out to be difficult and a lot of work for very little effect. Then I had a serious illness a couple of years ago, at which I packed everything away and I have not really resumed work on it. I'm still active on Clonetroopers.net and on Nordic Garrison's forum, so I am at least keeping up with news.
BTW. I am also an ex-member of the Rebel Legion, with a couple of costumes that I don't wear any more. My forum title is "Youngling", but maybe it should be "Retired"...

Good to hear. I'll be glad to help in ways I can - at least I know a few things not to do when it comes to the Clone. Please post a build thread, but do it in the correct area of the forum next time will you. I left the Rebel Legion for several reasons, but I don't want to vent here. I intended to join the Nordic Garrison with my Clone, but as you know it did not work out. In the Nordic countries, the Rebel Legion and the 501st is one community with many of the same people in both clubs so I wouldn't have stopped trooping, just changed my costume and club pin .. or that was the idea.

Hi Sesewest! How is your progress? I noticed that you want a 501st Clone Trooper of Episode 3. And I looked true your posts here. I am currently working on my Episode 2 Clone Commander and I am also on Clonetroopers.net ( DaftWars, my name is there) , so if you have any questions of any sorts, ask I have the contacts for who you can contact for buying armor, helmet and so on. Also can give you an estimated price range of what costs as DL is talking about since if its going to be an 501st Legion approveable costume you need the armor to be legit and accurate as in the Movies. So ask here or PM if any questions! Happy to help also With other costumes! -Order66

Hey
Its not good i have money i can save away for the costume, but its feels like its not the best time to start on a project. Also because I've never done anything like this, I'm not good at building stuff I'm good at other stuff but not building. Ive talked to my dad who is great at fixing and building stuff but he feels helping me with this project is out of his reach.
I know its not a costume with as many details as C-3PO, but there is still some details and skills required to go in to this costume. So I'm just afraid to screw it up do something wrong so i have to start from the beginning. Ive been thinking of buying a kit but I'm afraid its going to take 5 years in the making instead of maybe 1 and a half.
Sorry for late answer I've been mostly on the nordic garrison forum. But i have ideas for rebel costume as well but yeah I'm not good and making stuff. XD
With kind regards Sebastian

Sebastian, you should try hook up with some NB/NG members close to you and have them help you Here in Denmark we sometimes have weekends where we sew costumes/build armor (depending on the attending crowd )and that's a great way to get things done, even if you aren't too good at building/sewing yourself

Yeah I've heard that, I've talked to Oscar from Halmstad thats the only one I've talked to who is the closet. I know there are some in gothenburg. Im going to the Sci Fi convention in gothenburg ( I go there every year) so i might talk to some of you there but still i cant stand and talk with them for hours they gotta do there thing. And i feel i would feel like a pain in the ass like a kid always calling for there parents when they need help. XD

Belive me when I say that at first it is scary to start building an armor. You don´t know if you can make it and it looks really hard but when you start you will find that it is quite easy. As you said before, just start with the helmet and you will see that it is really fun! I always wanted to make a Han Solo outfit but the holster scared me.. When I finally tried to make one I could not stop! I have 2 Solo holsters and I made 3 pilot holsters and 4 RFT holsters! Just take the first step and I´m sure you will enjoy it.

Thanks i have to thanks all you guys I'm always amazed how kind and warm hearted you all are. I cant wait for some time in a future to have my first troop and really get to know you guys and meet you in person.
I'm so happy that the 501st and Rebel legion exist it has things i love in it making kids happy getting, to meet new people wearing awesome costume. And giving to charity one thing i consider very important.
Ill buy the helmet someday the best quality armor there is, its gonna be expensive but i know its gonna be worth it!
